Tournament Demo - Step by Step Process

Modified on Sat, Jun 28 at 4:13 PM

This article should be used to help guide you on what to show prospective tournament director.  Keep in mind we want to keep these demos in the 15–20-minute range and then open up to questions.

To start the demo, please pull up Demo tournament "Demo for Me".  The URL is here if you prefer Attendees

We can skip through most of the tournament creation process.  Let them know we offer free training tournament setup sessions if they decide to go with the software and we can help them set up the tournament to their needs.

Head to the attendees and begin showing them how easy it is to register players by using the "add attendee" button and adding player name "Lemon, Lemon" (first/last name is the same)

During the add event, select just the Doubles Scramble and Doubles skill events and continue to the partner selection screen.  Be sure to show them that they can now add a partner if they want or just have them register without a partner.  Progress to the next screen to see the user defined shirt question.  Let them know they can ask this or any other question they would like as long as it meets our terms and conditions.  Be sure NOT to complete the registration at the end as I want to continue to be able to do this for this player and not adjust the events.

Give them a quick review of the attendee at the time showing them what options are available under the menu button, what the fee section means and how to withdraw a player if need be.

Now progress to the events tab.  Start by going into an event details and showing them a few key items such as skill/format selection, max teams, custom title and the event fee section at the bottom.  Now head out and head to the "Merge events" and show them how easy it is to merge an event and unmerge if they don't meet the minimum teams needed.

Now head to the live console and show them how to verify an event (either the Doubles scramble or regular doubles depending on what style of tournament they are running).  Just a brief overview of each page showing them the key details on each page.  Once completely verified, show them how to "start" the event and how to enter some scores.  Then progress to the event already running "pools into playoffs".  You can show them how the system generates a playoff off pools or round robin.

This should be the main points for a demo that will explain to them how players register and how to create and run events.  Be sure to set anything you adjust back to status quo once completed.
