TD - How to Merge/Unmerge Events

When events don't meet your required number of participants for it to take place on its own, the best way to combine those into 1 event is to use Merge Events.  To access this option, log into your tournament and select the "Events" tab on your 3-line menu:

Once at your events, find 2 (or more) events that you are interested in combining.  In this example going forward, you will see that the 3.0-12-49 group only has 3 teams, and we are choosing to combine them with the 3.0-50 and above.

To Merge, you need to hit the Copy button on either of the events,

And then select Copy event for Merge:

Once inside the event, select Merge Events from the left-hand side menu:

Locate just the events you wish to Merge, select them and then hit the green "Merge" button at the top of the screen:

Once this is completed, you will find the Merged event now has taken the place of 2 individual events.  You will need to edit the event name, as the event takes on the name of the one selected to create the copy.  As this event is now a Mixed Doubles Skill 3.0 - All Ages, I would need to change the name to avoid confusion.  Merged events will have the 3 green line symbol (below) to indicate the event is merged:

If you accidentally select the incorrect events to merge, don't panic.  Just repeat the steps above, but instead of selecting the "Merge Events" option from the left-hand menu, use the "Unmerge Events" tab to undo the change.

Merging events, rather than moving teams manually into a combined event, will allow you to easily determine what event a team came from if you decide to split out medals after the bracket has completed.  In the shot below, you will see that each team shows the original event they signed up for under their names.
