TD - How to Download/Configure the Print Spooler

To download the Print Spooler, visit your 3-line menu and select "Edit Tourney," followed by "Venue" on the left-handand side menu.  Once inside, select the "Print Spooler Info" button:

Once selected, please be sure to read the instructions regarding the Print Spooler before downloading.  Once you have and understand, select "Download Print Spooler."  It is important to note that the spooler requires a Windows Operating System to run.

Once the spooler is downloaded, you need to configure it to work for your tournament.

Go back to the "Venue" selection on the menu as instructed above.

To utilize the Print Spooler, you need to make sure this is turned to Yes with confirm sheet, or yes w/out confirm sheet.  The confirm sheet is a results sheet that prints out so you can verify if a score was entered correctly.

Now we need to use the information provided to configure your Print Spooler.

To configure, select the "Settings" button on the spooler:

It is now time to move the information from your Venue information to your Spooler.  Copy the Tourney Code in place of the Id, the Print Spooler Code in place of the Password, and the Venue Code in place of the venue (see below)

The last 2 important steps in the configuration is to make sure the printer you are using for the tournament is listed correctly, and the Source is listed as Pickleballbrackets, not Pickleballtournaments.

Once this is completed, click Accept and your Spooler is configured to your tournament.  The last step is to turn it on the day of the tournament.

If you haven't already set up your events to work with the Print Spooler, check out the "How to Configure your Events to use Print Spooler" help page.

Troubleshooting tips:

  • The Spooler will "fall asleep" on occasion if it sits for an extended period of time.  You may need to refresh the spooler by turning it off and back on again to goose printing
  • The Spooler can only be on for 1 computer at a time.  If you have it configured and running on multiple devices it will NOT work
  • If printing is functioning but you are missing sheets, be sure that you have your printer set to "half sheets."  If it is set to whole sheets, and multiple sheets are set to print, the printer will only print the first sheet
